The Dr's took the respirator off  of Jon this morning and he was breathing on his own.  Unfortunately after a few hours he was having issues with swelling in his throat and they had to put it back just to be sure he was getting enough oxygen and for his own comfort.  Hopefully they will try again soon and he will be healthy enough to breath on his own..!

Jon had another good night. He was able to open his eyes more and more but not very responsive! They will start to ween him off of the sedatives but need to be careful so that he does not move to much as he does have a spinal injury and they need to make sure his movements do not make the injury worse.
Kris and Halina are so amazed at the messages of prayers and positive thoughts coming Jons way and for the family. Thank you all for this. They are starting to read these messages when they get a chance.
